Modernizing the outdoor retail experience was the key objective of the ambitious redesign project for the Go Sport Outdoor store in Chambéry, France. This 1,600 m² space was completely renovated to become a benchmark in innovation, functionality, and customer experience within the sports retail sector.

Go Sport entrusted HMY, an international specialist in commercial space design, to carry out this transformation. The mission: to create a retail experience aligned with the values of outdoor sports, integrating immersive design, functionality, and a clear brand identity.

A Retail Experience Tailored to the Outdoor Universe

The outdoor sector is defined by values such as nature, authenticity, and technical performance. Reflecting these principles in a commercial environment required a precise intervention capable of balancing aesthetics and operability. The new concept aimed to:

  • Create themed zones by discipline (hiking, cycling, leisure, technical footwear).
  • Use natural materials evoking the outdoor environment.
  • Offer an intuitive and engaging customer journey.
  • Improve commercial efficiency without sacrificing sensory experience

HMY’s Comprehensive Solution: Custom Design Focused on Retail Experience

To meet these challenges, HMY developed a comprehensive proposal based on immersive, modern, and natural design:

Warm and Natural Scenography

The use of wood-finished slats (“zénith” system) added warmth and an organic aesthetic, becoming a key element in setting the atmosphere and structuring the space.

Rigorous Coordination and Efficient Planning

Thanks to a smooth process based on 3D modeling, each phase was validated and adjusted with Go Sport. This methodology enabled precise execution without deviations or delays.

Clearly Differentiated Themed Zones

Each product category was integrated into its own space, with customized furniture and signage:

  • Cycling Area
  • Hiking and Outdoor Zone
  • Technical Footwear Corner
  • Leisure and Lifestyle Universe

This facilitated customer orientation and encouraged impulse purchases.

Optimized and Coherent Customer Journey

The layout design enhances the customer experience by naturally guiding them through the different sports universes, reinforcing the emotional connection with the brand.
