In stores and supermarkets, effectively controlling customer flow at the exit is key to maximizing loss prevention and improving operational efficiency. Retail exit control systems ensure that only customers who have completed their purchase can leave the store, preventing errors and theft without impacting the shopping experience.
Designed to address these challenges, ScanMaster is a standalone scanner created for retail exit control, capable of reading codes from printed receipts or mobile devices. Its operation is simple: customers who have completed their purchase scan their receipt, and once validated, the exit gates automatically unlock, ensuring a secure, fast and controlled exit process.
ScanMaster features
• Enhanced security in self-checkout systems: ScanMaster is designed to strengthen security in self-checkout (SCO) environments. By requiring receipt scanning to open the exit, it acts as an effective deterrent against shrinkage, reducing incidents in self-checkout areas and improving exit control in high-traffic supermarkets and stores.
• Multiple installation options at the point of sale: this retail exit control scanner offers great flexibility for integration. It can be incorporated directly into SigmaGate gates, installed as a standalone kiosk within the checkout ecosystem, or integrated into barrier systems or AlphaGate gates through the ScanMaster XD version, adapting to different store layouts.
• Integration plan for large retail rollouts: based on extensive experience in implementing access, checkout and exit control systems, a phased deployment plan has been developed to facilitate adoption across supermarkets and retail chains. This process includes visual communication to guide customers step by step through the self-checkout and exit process, ensuring a smooth transition and seamless shopping experience.

ScanMaster success story at Casino supermarket (France): exit control and self-checkout to extend opening hours
The Casino supermarket chain in France aimed to offer extended opening hours without increasing staff workload. To achieve this, the project focused on optimizing the self-checkout area and strengthening automated exit control to prevent losses.
As part of this strategy, a retail access and exit control system was implemented, combining different types of automatic gates with ScanMaster scanners at the exits. Thanks to this solution, customers using self-checkout scan their receipt to exit, ensuring an organized customer flow, improved security and reduced shrinkage.
