Connected Store Design for Carrefour

The Carrefour Group selected HMY for the complete development of this innovative project.  Our design, innovation, and technology teams worked the complete concept from the retail consulting and visual identity of the store to the point-of-sale technology.

Given the scope of the project and its strategic interest, a complete prototype of the store was created to later introduce it in different points of sale at the international level.  In less than three months, and thanks to our technology and lighting partners, Net-Ip and Lledó, the prototype for the Carrefour connected store is finished and ready to begin its manufacture and installation.

All of the commercial furniture for the store was custom designed: counters, shelves, displays…  Manufactured with high-quality materials.  We used metal and wood finishes and neutral colors to give the space a minimalist and clean feel.  The displays and counters have illuminated glass showcases for featured products or higher value products.  We broke up the uniformity of the space with both ambient lighting and shelf and totem lighting in bright colors, blue or magenta, which give a technological feel.  

One of the strong points of this project was the integration of technology.  With the concept for a connected store, where the client will find the latest gadgets on the market, it was vital to integrate technology solutions at the point-of-sale. Digital signage on mural headers, screens managed from our content control platform, projectors, augmented reality experiences, digital signage on shelves…

In the first half of 2017, we have implemented the first 10 corners in different Carrefour hypermarkets.  There are still 20 shop-in-shop and 3 boutiques yet to be completed.  A project where HMY and its partners have demonstrated their ability to innovate in connected store design and concept and their advanced knowledge for the application of technological solutions in commercial spaces.
